Yesterday I was walking outside at dusk. It was cool and the sky was clear. I always feel close to the Lord at times like this… I’m so full of gratitude for the nature that God created and the beauty of it all. Honestly, it’s humbling to think that He created it for me to enjoy…. And He created me for Him to enjoy.
I was talking with God about the present and the future. Always hoping that I’m doing what He wants me to do and that my husband and I are walking in the direction that He wants us to go.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
The future seems so uncertain and I’m always concerned about “messing it all up”!
Then I realized that my confidence shouldn’t be in the direction that I’m going. My confidence is not in that I’m going in the right direction.
My FAITH and HOPE lies in Jesus Christ and I’m looking at HIM. I’m holding HIS hand and I’m going where HE leads.
The God I serve is faithful. If I have any confidence at all it’s that He is the one leading. (I’m not confident … only in HIM) I don’t need to look around me, I don’t even need to “watch where I step”… because the God I serve has me in His hand. The God I serve and seek already knows my future. The God I obey has my back. All I have to do is keep my eyes on Him.
Don’t concern myself about the unknown… just focus on what I do know. And what I know is that He has provided His Written Word just for me. He has brought me this far.
If God promised it yesterday, it’s good for today. If He promised it 10 years ago, it’s good for today. All I have to do is keep my FAITH in HIM.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
“Now FAITH is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
My FAITH is not a wishlist of things that I HOPE will happen. My FAITH is that JESUS has the future and my hand is in His.
Stay in the WORD.
SEEK Him.
Have FAITH in HIM.
